Non-western theorizing can be considered one of the most recent issues of international relations. With this description, such issues create several scientific challenges that, for future debates and discussions, put international relations in an state of ambiguity. Despite the leading role of South East Asian Nations, Iranian researchers also made some efforts in theorizing the international relations, but there hasn’t been an attempt to show its development in Iran, as a result, the changes in this field and our present position is not clear. (Question) The process of theorizing international relations in Iran can be divided into two main streams; contextualizing stream and theorizing stream, which the former paves the way necessary for the latter. (Hypothesis) Showing the status and process of theorizing in international relations helps us to recognize the factors necessary for localization and theorizing and to understand the changes in this field. (Objective) The present research used the descriptive investigation of prominent works on this issue by comparative and quantitative methods as a way to answer the question. (Methodology) Presenting an organized model of the development of theorizing in international relations in Iran and revealing the attempt of researchers in the Islamic seminaries and universities for the localization and Islamization of this issue are from the results of the present paper. Even though international relations is several centuries old, the science of international relations is new and real, and is now manifested in the form of a special knowledge and field of study called international relations and because of this novelty its dimensions especially in the field of jurisprudence are not discovered, a field which is not scientifically investigated and as a result we face this question: Can we talk about the jurisprudence of international relations? (Question) Regarding the capacities of jurisprudence, the author believes that jurisprudence can deal with international relations; of course this does not mean that the need to the knowledge of international relations is ignored. (Hypothesis) Therefore, the author wants to show that jurisprudence of international relations is a branch of jurisprudence that is charged with regulating the international relations of the Muslim Community (Islamic ummah) based on certain principles and utilizing a given methodological pattern (Objective) and its method and result are only possible by presenting the definition of jurisprudence of international relations. (Methodology) The special position of jurisprudence of international relations in Islamic theorizing, the possibility of calling it as religious rules that govern the international relations of Muslim Community and considering international relations exclusive to jurisprudence without ignoring other Islamic political sciences in Islamic theorizing of international relations are among the points which are emphasized in the present article. Prevention has a long history and, therefore, is one of the strategies that drew the attention of the strategic analysts for its low cost and high efficacy. Nevertheless the self-evident nature of the subject and multiplicity of the resources prevented the formation of native studies in this field. The present article, in the first step, in order to generate a rich scientific literature in the field of prevention, faces the question of the quiddity and the principles of prevention strategy in a comparative study of Islam and the West. (Question) To answer this question, while criticizing the existing theories and dividing them in the dichotomy of conventionalist and faith-based (Islamic), this hypothesis has been holding forth that prevention strategy in Islam – because of the attention to the epistemological foundations of threat - proposes a triad pattern of prevention which is based on the following principles: resistance, invitation and servitude. (Hypothesis) The author seeks to present the principles of prevention strategy in Islam and differentiating it from Western instances and transfer this theoretical experience to the international community. (Objective) The interpretative method of study is used in this paper. (Methodology) Inadequacy of the existing prevention strategies, on one hand, and the ability of the Islamic pattern since it’s based on servitude and divine confirmations, from the other, put forward the divine doctrine in the issue of prevention. The study of international relations shows that scholars and thinkers of this realm were and are paying special attention to two fields, first; the challenges of existing theories in analyzing international realities and second, the theoretical deficiencies of these theories, whereas, there has not been an effective investigation, emphasizing religion and specially Islam, to resolve the challenges and eliminate the deficiencies. Therefore, introducing an Islamic theory of international relations puts forward the question that what are the objective deficiencies and analytical disabilities of theorizing in the field of international relations? (Question) The author believes that the Islamic theory enjoys the capability to bridge the existing epistemic gap. (Hypothesis) Despite the success of ideationalism in criticizing the materiality which dominates the international theories, it suffers from a thin materialism, so introduction of and approach to the capacity of the epistemic system of Islam in international arena is inevitable. (Objective) This paper, while describing the challenges emanating from the separation of religion from the sphere of this field of study, expresses the explorations that have been carried out to bridge this epistemic gap and by criticizing ideationalism as the last attempt in current debates of international relations, emphasizes the need to turn to Islam. (Methodology) Improving the analytic ability of international relations theories and breaking the existing deadlock is only possible through the application of religion. (Finding)

All major religious had reflected on peace and had some doctrines and teachings on this issue. In this regard, Islam has teachings and ideas too, but there has not been a comprehensive discourse arrangement of them. Therefore, serious attention has not been given to producing theoretical academic works in this field. The question is: How the Islamic discourse in Iran has conceptualized the concept of “peace” in the field of international relations and what are its teachings? (Question) The assumption is that the Islamic discourse, relying upon its own principles, has developed some affirmative and privative patterns which primarily aim at the realization of enduring peace with the centrality of monotheism (Tawhid) and community (Ummah). (Hypothesis) The present paper, in fact, tries to explain, develop, infer and finally theoretically present some parts of these teachings in a certain conceptual domain in the field of international relations. (Objective) The authors seek to investigate the dominant discourse attitude in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the key concept and variable of peace regarding the method of analysis and theoretical framework of discourse. (Methodology) Presenting a new concept of peace in the framework of the discourse of political – jurisprudential Islam based on justice and spirituality which leads to universal enduring peace is from the findings of the present article. One of the distinguishing aspects of the Islamic Revolution of Iran from other revolutions in the world is its peacefulness and nonviolence aspect which gives precedence to its soft and discourse aspects over others. However, this dimension of the Revolution in international relations theories is not investigated and, as a result, the software dimension of the Revolution in the Islamic Awakening has remained vague and unclear in the analytical framework of these theories especially the constructivism theory. In the present research the question is: Can the Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa be studied with the constructivism theory? (Question) Regarding the cultural aspect and the unarmed nature of the revolution or its ideational dimension on the evolution of a new procedure of the Islamic awakening, and also by considering the capability of the constructivism theory in discourse, cultural, identity and social changes and also with a look at human cognition and inter-subjective relations, the present article can deal with the reverberations of the Islamic Revolution on these changes. (Hypothesis) The present research seeks to investigate the reverberations of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on these changes with a new look and from a theoretical viewpoint. In a world that security has gained a delicate meaning; the concept of neighborhood calls for more extensive academic attentions. Perhaps the reason is that in the world literature and even in Iran after the Islamic Revolution, the concept and theory of neighborhood has dramatically remained silent. As a result, we face a challenging question that how the experience of foreign policy of the Islamic Republic encompasses a new approach and concept in the field of neighborhood in recent decades? (Question) The history of Islamic – Iranian culture confirms that my security is not independent from my neighbor’s, if the security of my neighbor increases, my security will increase as well. (Hypothesis) In fact, the present article intends to present a conceptual entry to start a foreign policy after experiencing Iran’s new conditions and based on religious – ethical thoughts and values. (Objective) Explaining the concept of neighborhood in today’s international relations knowledge with the aim of an approach to Islamic – Iranian theory and describing its dimensions, with emphasis on the nature of bestowing, is a way to answer the research question. (Methodology) Accepting the neighbor as the beginning for the foreign policy of governments and also an ethical approach to it in the Islamic Republic against the existing knowledge of international relations are among the results of the present paper.
