Most theories of international relations have been formulated solely with the aim of acquiring "power", "security" and "wealth", without paying attention to "self-respect and self-esteem". If we assume self-esteem as one of the constants of Islamic foreign policy principles, the main question of the present research is based on the following: by reflecting on the verses of Surah At-Tawbah, can other concepts such as "self-esteem and status-seeking" be extracted in addition to acquiring "power", "wealth" and "security" in Western theories in order to explain foreign policy and understand international relations? The present article seeks to prove the hypothesis that the concept of self-esteem can be transformed into three components: "self-willed limitation in conflicts", "priority of identity" and "status-seeking" and they can be considered in Surah At-Tawbah as a sign of "self-esteem and status-seeking" as constant principles of Islamic domestic and foreign policy. The importance of the discussion goes back to the fact that in recent years, considering the guiding and guiding role of political theoretical structures in national and global strategies, reflection on security theories of international relations has been given more serious attention by policy-making centers in many countries. The general approach of this research is derived from the descriptive-analytical method and the data collection and library method; and it is of the type of text reading (Quran text).
