Abstract
In the first decade of the revolution, the Tehran bazaar contributed greatly to the consolidation and establishment of the newly established Islamic Republic system by its presence on the scene and its support. The bazaars also supported the revolutionary forces and movements for political activities, increasing insight, and confronting the conspiracies and threats of enemies and counter-revolutionary groups. The purpose of the research and consequently the main question is: What was the role of the Tehran bazaar in politics in the first decade of the Islamic Revolution of Iran? This research uses a descriptive-analytical method. The research findings show that in the first decade of the revolution, the Tehran bazaar acted as an active supporter, guide, and activist by supporting the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the consolidation of the Islamic system through participation in politics and governance, enthusiastic presence in elections and gatherings supporting the revolution and its values, active participation in supporting the fighters in the sacred defense, and assistance to the governing bodies. The Tehran Bazaar has always been in direct contact with the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the revolutionary movement, and has been effective in mobilizing the public, providing the support needed by popular gatherings, and boosting the actions of the governing apparatus.
